Our CXR bed racks can be ordered to any height from 9.5” high to 28” high.

Selecting the correct height for your application may be confusing, but we are here to help!!

Most people will select their rack height based on how tall their truck cab is, especially if mounting a roof top tent (see cab height chart below).

If mounting a roof top tent that is longer than your truck bed, you will want a rack that is tall enough to enable the tent to extend over your cab.

Conversely, some folks may want the top of their tent to be flush with the top of their cab. In this case, simply subtract the height of your tent from the height of your cab, and the result is rack height that you should choose.

Others may want the top of their rack to be even with the top of their roof rack. This scenario will require some measuring. Measure from the top of your truck bed sides to the very top of your roof rack, that number would be the required rack height.

• Ford Maverick 16" (18" to top of shark fin, 20" to top of antenna)
• Ford F-150 23" (24" to top of shark fin)
• Ford Ranger 22" (23" to top of shark fin)
• Ford F-250/F-350 23" (25" to top of shark fin)
• GMC Colorado/Canyon 19" (22" to top of shark fin)
• GM Silverado/Sierra 1500 23" (No Fin)
• GM Silverado/Sierra 2500 23" (No Fin)
• Nissan Frontier 21" (23" to top of shark fin)

Other helpful tips:

• A taller rack will provide better visibility in the rear view mirror
• Keeping your tent below cab height will increase your fuel mileage
• It’s a lot easier to get dogs into a lower tent :)
• Taller racks have more room for activities (and gear)
• Taller racks are better for hauling kayaks and SUP’s
