When to use KB Voodoo Tent Bars

Most roof top tents easily mount to the top of our bed racks using the top crossbars that run perpendicular to the length of the truck. However, there are some cases where you may need to have bars that run parallel with the length of the bed. That is where our KB Voodoo Tent Bars come in. We offer these Tent Bars for both our CXR and VRS products lines.

The CXR Tent Bars are meticulously crafted from the same high strength extruded aluminum that serves as the foundation for the CXR Bed Rack. Not only can these versatile bars be utilized for securely mounting tents, but they also offer the capability to attach additional accessories, such as the CXR Cargo Tray or various storage boxes, to the top of your bed rack. They represent just one of the many innovative CXR Accessories we proudly provide to help you maximize the overall utility and functionality of your CXR Bed Rack.

Our VRS Tent Bars are expertly crafted from high-quality formed steel or sturdy aluminum to match the specific material of the VRS Bed Rack you have chosen. Not only can these versatile bars be effectively utilized for securely mounting tents in various outdoor conditions, but they also offer the impressive capability to attach additional accessories, such as the VRS Fixed Cargo Tray or various compatible storage boxes, to the top of your bed rack with ease. These tent bars represent just one of the many innovative and carefully designed VRS Accessories we proudly provide to help you maximize the overall utility and functionality of your VRS Bed Rack, ensuring it meets all your adventure needs.

Why use a Roof Top Tent (RTT)?

Camping is supposed to be fun, but sometimes it isn’t…..

Setting up or breaking down a ground tent in the rain is one of the least enjoyable things you can do in the outdoors (aside from getting eaten by a bear).

Weather is the primary reason that we made the switch to a roof top tent, but what are some of the other reasons?

First and foremost, COMFORT!! Roof top tents have extremely comfortable, self contained mattresses, and there is no air mattress to blow up. There is also no air mattress to deflate when packing for home, or worse yet, to deflate unexpectedly in the middle of the night when you’re supposed to be sleeping.

Comfortable temperatures are also easier to achieve with RTT’s. Being off the ground helps keep you warmer, but being off the ground also makes air flow easier for when it’s sweltering outside.

The advantage of being elevated also helps keep pests out. Setting up a tent on the ground is an open invitation to every critter in the forest.

Finally, setup and take down is considerably easier and faster with a roof top tent. When we camp, we want to get straight to the fun. Spending 30 minutes setting up a ground tent is not what we call fun, and trying to fold up a damp and dirty ground tent when it’s time to go home is even less fun.

We hope this blog entry is helpful to anybody who is on the fence about roof top tents. We made the switch years ago, and there is no turning back now.
